Vision

The Quality and Academic Development Unit looks forward to achieving comprehensive quality of all academic, research and administrative practices of the Educational Studies Graduate Program. It also aims at utilizing all available potential and resources in order to enhance the academic services offered by the program in order to satisfy the requirement criteria set by both national and international accreditation organizations.

Mission

The Mission of the Quality and Academic Development Unit affiliated to the Educational Studies Graduate Program is to improve all  components of the programs offered by the various sections in order for these programs to be capable of maintaining continuous improvement and qualifying  highly academically and culturally competent graduates and to achieve academic accreditation for the programs by prestigious national and international organizations.

 

Objectives

The Quality and Academic Development Unit dedicates itself to helping all program sections activate quality criteria in their practices and have all their self-assessment tools completed. These efforts will contribute to achieving the strategic plan goals, satisfying  requirements of national and international accreditation organizations and improving output standards through achieving the following goals:

  1. Spreading a culture of quality through publishing and distributing booklets and pamphlets, holding symposia, lectures and workshops.

     

  2. Endeavoring to achieve quality assurance of the academic programs and prepare them for national and international academic accreditation.

     

  3. Conducting institutional and program self-studies and evaluating the academic process by measuring the performance indicators of its input, operations and output.

     

  4. Participating in conferences and symposia to benefit from successful practices, keep up with developments and improve the quality of the  program’s efforts and achievements.

     

  5. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the program and providing appropriate suggestions, solutions and tools that help fix any weaknesses.

     

  6. Monitoring  how the different sections improve their programs so that their alumni can reach a distinguished level among the other alumni of similar programs and therefore, be able to compete in the job market.

     

  7. Creating channels of communication with any national and international organizations interested in quality and evaluation in the domain of tertiary education so as to exchange experience in a way that improves academic process.

     

  8. Surveying the alumni with the purpose of improving the program performance in the light of quality and academic accreditation criteria.

     

  9. Surveying societal institutions that benefit from the program output in a way that keeps up with  society’s needs and realizes the useful societal participation in improving that output.

     

  10. Preparing the forms required for conducting surveys and evaluation processes and providing an electronic database.

     

  11. Contributing to the preparation of the strategic plan and making good use of all potential according to the Mission of the Educational Studies Graduate Program  to enable achievement of future goals and ambitions.

     

  12. Providing the information that pertains to the developments of quality assurance and accreditation and preparing annual reports on the program activities and output in accordance with quality and academic accreditation criteria.
